Some jobs are a real pleasure.
The Next Step – Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Centre approach me via bookanartist.co with the opportunity to create a signage piece with a bit of graffiti styled flare to it. Initial the work was going to be simply isolated out in the middle of gigantic grey concrete wall due to budget restraints. This wasn’t good enough to me. As a way to give back and make a real impact for those who may need inspiration after some of the most traumatic moments in their lives they will ever go through, I volunteered to supersize the mural and the following is what we came up with.
After 2 days of tricky work navigating a small scissorlift and the occasional parked-in-the-wrong-spot-car this monster of a mural was completed. I’d been fortunate enough to meet some of the frequenters of TNS and stole a quick photo of one there hands to use as a focal point in this piece. Stretching out to take The Next Step toward recover and a future a bit brighter than yesterday.
