I was very fortunate to be approached by Ms Frankie in Richmond(Melbourne) to do a huge street art mural. Playing off the deep Italian influences that Ms Frankie’s is founded on and it fun, cheeky, rebellious owners we concocted this spaghetti slurping goddess. Adding a touch of street flare to the back laneway behind the restaurant and bringing the eye to its location nestled off the main drag of Cremorne and Richmonds shopping strip.
The piece was created using a mixture of primarily aerosol and house paints this textured photorealistic composition towers over the newly founded Frankie’s Lane and Keo’s Cresent. I’m extremely proud of this piece especially as it was done within only 2 and a half days and completely solo.
At times it was quite tricky working on this piece especially because of its scale and complexity. Photorealism needs accurate scaling, sketching and proportion or the work can end up looking like a dogs breakfast. This street art mural has become one of my favourite pieces showing just how far my work has come and how confident my work can be even in the most awkward of angles and heights.
