BLOCK by BLOCK: Belmont Street Art Festival – Part 1 – Lake Macquarie

Block by Block is a long running project that myself and Ana Benson of Cafe Macquarie constructed are still coordinating. The idea behind the project is bring art to abandoned, forgotten and unused spaces around the country. Block by Block: Belmont is the first of said art productions to be put into action, check out this brilliant video and some amazing shots produced by wiz with a lens Mr. Billy Zammit.

At this first painting weekend we had a huge range of brilliant artist with an amazing collection of styles on offer.
I want to note that these artists worked for absolutely free and did all work as an amazing addition to the community and in particular the youth and those feeling forgotten in Belmont. Connection, collaboration, and creation, through creativity and community spirit.
